Exclamation Can't Get Power

I Just Bought A 1994 24' Baja Outlaw Powered By A 454 Merc. The Boat Ran Fine The Day After I Bought It And Then Started To Sputter And Miss The Following Day. She Took Awhile To Get Up Over 2500 Rpms And Plane Out. Now She Wont Go Passed 24oo Rpms While In Gear. I Changed The Fuel Filter, Plugs, And Checked The Fuel Pump. I Am Thinking Of The Carb Next....any Help With This Would Be Greatly Appreciated.

Not knowing hours on the boat and service history, I'd take a peek under the distributor cap to see the condition of the cap, rotor, etc. By fuel filter, I assume you mean fuel filter/water separator?New vs. old gas?

The Boat Was Serviced In April. I Saw The Receipts. I Bought It From A Dealer Who Says It Ran Fine When He Sea Trialed It. He Is Willing To Work W/ Me I Just Dont Know What To Do Next. I Did Check The Dist. Cap And Its Good. Yes It Was The Fuel/water Separator I Changed.

check your timing, your distributor could be a little loose or not advancing also check your coil. i had a bad coil cause that one time.

The Engine Turns Up Fine In Neutral. Its Only When I Put A Load On It When It Sputters And Misses. The Distributor Is Good And Clean.it Just Had A Tune Up In April. You Guys Don't Think It Could Be The Carb?

It could be the carb, but it can also be the wires.

If you are running merc ignition change the pickup coil in the distributor as they go bad they act like a rev limiter

A freak thing happened to me once with the same symptoms. The roll pin on the timing gear of the distributor snapped. I coould see it was there but it had broke in the middle allowing the illusion that it was fine, but would slip and I would lose timing.

Had a very similar problem once. A carb rebuild fixed the problem.
