The Sunpad/engine Hatch Cover Is Dryrotted On My 1994 24' Baja Outlaw. I Am Thinking About Doing A Recover Job Myself. Can Anyone Give Me Some Pointers On This Process? It Really Can't Be That Hard To Do. Or Should I Just Fork Over The $450.00 My Local Upholster Wants To Do It? Thanks.

Chuck, I have found that most of the labor is in the removal of the old material, staples and foam, which is no big deal. You can inspect the hatch cover for rot if there is any plywood used in it and inspect the well nuts to make sure they are made of stainless steel. It may be worth asking the question, if you can save some money by stripping it yourself, replacing the rotted wood. Then just have him recover it.

Ok....i Guess I'll Just Strip It Down And Get Everything Ready For The Pros. I Already Know The Wood Is No Good Cause The Port Side Hinge Is Flapping In The Breeze!!! Can I Get Some Suggestions On Where To Get The Supplies I'm Gonna Need?
