Hey guys, don't forget about EBAY! It's a great place to pick up props to try, and then resell them if you don't like them. I went through 5 diff props last spring, and finally settled on a Mirage Plus that had been labbed but was sold as a regular prop ($200!! plus shipping) I sold each prop for $25 more than I paid for it to cover the shipping!! In the end, my labbed 29" Mirage Plus really only cost me $125 !! You never really know how a props going to do until you try it on your own boat. Many of the same boats came with different x dimensions and options etc.!!

I lnow I'm reincarnating an old post but need some feedback--

Got a Formula SR357 with EFI 454's and TRS drives and deeper than normal X-dim it seems (haven't measured yet but did just replace drives).

WOT is only 4100 RPMS and top end is around 50MPH. Have standard OEM 21P Mirage props.

Boat is a heavy "condo"--has all kinds of electronics, A/C, Genset, refrig, entertainment systems, and a lot of liquor. Usually run with 3/4 full water tank and 3/4 to full fuel tank (200 gal).

My thought is need to get WOT RPM up from 4100 to rated 4800 or so.

Would appreciate idea's on first direction to move with prop change.

A 21 is allready kinda small prop wise....if you go smaller i dont know if you would gain any top end but you would improve the RPM's.....i think the first thing i would do is send the props out and have them checked. When i sent my 23's out for re-work, no two blades were the same!!! One blade was right on....the other two went in opposite directions!

I was somewhat concerned about not turning rated RPMS--should I be??

I agree--smaller than 21 is pretty puuny.

Z.ZUPERBOAT, You gained 15 MPH by doing just a prop change and labbing? holycrap! Did you go to mirages or mirage pluses?

Is there that much to gain by spinning TRS's in?
