600 lbs less, almost same speed.
Hi guys, i got a 24 pantera, and it seems that i cant gain much more speed by myself than with people aboard, i hit 71 with 3/4 tank fuel and 4 adults counting me, but if im by myself i hit 72 and with even less fuel, rpms are the same at 5000 running a 3 blade mirage, it also seems that it handles better with the people aboard than with me, maybe my imagination but it feels different, this doesnt sound right does it? Speeds are on gps speedo
Any imput would be appreciated

My brothers 24'er was sensitive to right and left side balance as the boat has a very deep -v and little beam.

I understand about the distribution of the weight and being more stable, but shaving all that weight should bring the mph up, when i do runs by myself boat is running stable as it can get. Im wondering if the x-dim needs to be deeper since the boat sits lower with all that weight?

changing #'s per hp will always effect your speed. Trim, wind or something effected your runs. They don't spend thousands for kevlar or balsa for fun. to go faster it's more hp or less weight, your boat doesn't care which. Go to BAM's boat speed calculator. Having said that 2 or3 hundred pounds is nothing to a 7000 boat with 900hp.
