Default Electric Bolster not working

My electric bolster stopped working yesterday on the helm side. It won't go up or down. Fortunately it is stuck in the down position. The ram and the motor are located up inside of the back part of the seat. The motor still runs, but it sounds like it is out of fluid (maybe).

How do I check the fluid and anyone have any other ideas as to why it would stop working?

If the motor's inside the seat it's electric not hydraulic. Is it a Mcleoud? If so its probably the gear on the top of the motor is wiped out. If you send it back to them they can repair it. Sometimes they're hard to remove though.

Bowties right, sounds like stripped gears. I think its made by acculift. I don't know if you can get it serviced. Sonic gets $220 for a motor. I don't think they're hard to remove.
How was it on the big lake this weekend? You should have came and checked out our new house. There was a Sonic sized space open at my dock all weekend. Boy I can't wait until the baby is big enough to go out on it! Next summer.

Thanks for the information. I don't believe that the seats are Mcleoud, I think that Sonic makes their own.

I will try to remove the motor this week.

Chris, we had fun on Ontario this weekend. We went to Sandy Pond and had a lot of fun. Unfortunately SP is in the wrong direction from your house. Hope the house is coming along well.

Has anyone ever had to have one of these repaired?

If so how long did it take and how much was it?

It turns out that the cap on the electric motor fell off. The little nuts on the end didn't have lock washers on them (probably from the Acculift factory this way) and one of the nuts just fell off. That was the easy part.

The pain in the a$$ part was getting it out. Fortunatley my buddy came over and lended me an extra set of hands or else I would have had to be an octopus.

Now I get to have the same fun putting the motor back in.

Big thanks to the Sonic factory on giving me instructions that assisted in the removal of the motor!!!!
