In testing today, they do get on plane quicker and smoother for sure. I hit 82 today with 1/2 tank and 6 people on board. (stock HP500EFI's). I am very hapy so far.

This prop has completely changed the handling of our particular boat.

Re: Anyone with Hydromotive P5X results?
I think that is what they told me. I think I was also told that the bravo 30 should be = to the 27 p5x. My 30 bravo 1 was labed by Houston & I am now trying the 29 p5x since I was on rev limiter with the 27 p5x. Hopefully this weekend will be able to do some good testing between the labed 30 bravo, 32 bravo, & 29 p5x.

I tested 25 & 27 pitch P5X's on my 28 Nordic Midcabin. The 27 turned the exact RPM and speed at WOT as a labbed 28 Bravo 1, but had much better low end and cruise numbers. The 25 turns the same RPM/Speed as a stock 26 Bravo 1 prop at WOT, but the low end and cruise is again much better. Where you really notice a difference is when the boat has a lot of weight in the bow, the P5X will stay hooked up great. The Bravo props would slip and the boat wouldn't stay on plane below 40 MPH. That's my experience. This boat loves 'em.

I dont have any 5 blades, but I do have a labbed 4 blade that is a 32 twisted to a 33 that Merc did for me, I really think that as light as your boat is and with the hp you have, I think that you could turn it and maybe pick up the extra mph that you are looking for if you can get it to roll over. Anyway, you are more than welcome to try it..

I'm curious why there was such an rpm difference between the P5 and P5x. Especially with all the stern-lift you were getting from them. The slip numbers are surprisingly low considering the stern-lift of the p5's. I am also impressed with the low slip number for the Bravo 1. Of course if it was lab finished it could be a different story.
How did the Bravo 1 get on plane compared to the P5x. I would have to agree that if we had a 33 or 34 P5x we would see increased speed. Each inch of pitch is about 3 mph so if you were able to spin a 33 p5x at the rev limiter I would expect 115. If you could turn the 34 P5x then maybe a little more than the Bravo 1.
Assuming that the 33 P5x had the same top end as the Bravo 1, are all the benefits of the 5 blade worth the money? Also keep in mind your cruise speed would increase with a 33 or 34 P5x. About 2 mph or so.

???If the P5s generate a lot more stern lift than the B1s, where do the Merc Maximus 5s fall in this picture? More or less stern lift than a B1 of comparable pitch?
