Are you speaking of the Merc 800SC's ??? I you are, I know of someone who bought some Merc 800SC's years ago. He said he was personally told by Fred Kiekhaffer that they actually only make about 730hp to begin with anyway.

Keep the blowers!!! Hyd. roller cams are hard to beat, but DYNO your engines and prop to the results, this is where you get efficiency. By the way the merc 800's had flat tappet cam with 2 700 holley carbs and were only to be run at 5200rpms. You do not need big carbs with low rpms and low boost. Hope this helps.

Well, I've decided to keep the blowers... Took both motors out today to see what's going on. The first change is to scrap the solid flat tapped cam and go to a hyd. roller or hyd. flat tappet cam.
