i had an 87 and chances are its basically a 330 with the large performance oval heads. Mine was a 2 bolt main with cast rods and crank.

The "magnum" with the forged goodies was still a few years down the line.

Mine is an 88, with rectangular heads, forged crank, pistons, aluminum high rise intake manifold.

In 1988 the only 454 cubic inch engine that comes to mind with rectangle port heads was the Merc 365hp engine. It had a Rochester carb, 4-bolt main block, forged 7/16" rod bolt rods, forged crank, and forged pistons, but it did NOT have the Crane "gold" roller rocker arms. Instead, it only had the stock GM stamped steel rocker arms. Hope that helps.

Not sure what all the specs are, but I do have lots of parts for '89 454 Mags if you need anything. Intakes, carbs, starter, flywheel, fuel pump/seperater, valve covers.
