Cougar US1 38
hello, i am a new user from germany, please excused my bad english
I drive a 1989 cougar us1 38 with 2x mercruiser 7.4 litres and supercharger.
The engines horsepower ist circa 490 hp. The exaust must be closed, because if it is open i cannot drive in germany with this engines my boat runs about 68 miles....
Now i want to change the 7,4 litres against 2x mercruiser 496 mag ho with 425 hp.
What do you think , with which engines is my boat faster , with the old 7,4 litres with supercharger and circa 490hp or the new 496 mag ho with 425 hp and full injection....
hope you will answer...
I wish all of you a great day goob bye and greets to USA....

I like the way your accent translates into the typing
If your current package runs well I would consider some non-restrictive exhaust and mufflers and enjoy it. If you have had head problems this may still be the answer taking away the restriction with a new exhaust.
Take care and welcome to OSO
