cam help: 502 with AFR 305cc heads
#101
I took apart the HP 500's today and they look very good inside. No broken vavle springs, but a couple places where the head gaskets were slightly leaking between cylinders.

Any updates? Kinda quiet----looks like everyone has stopped talking, and gone to work on their winter engine upgrade projects. I asked Santa for some new AFR cnc ported heads this Christmas---he gave me the nod.

Mark, I'm headed to G.R. to see Jim V. tommorrow. He's going to do a chamber and exhaust port to my AFR 335's. Don't think there's much more that can be done after that except build bigger engines.
If you're not doing anything, stop by. I should be there around 3:00.

I am just getting the short blocks ready for the heads. I hope Santa brings mine before Christmas because I heard AFR shuts down for two weeks for the holidays.

I got one set of heads in. Waiting on the other and machine work on the block/crank, and parts. I'm going to powder coat a bunch of the brackets off of the motors while I'm at but that should be in progress next week. Otherwise one motor should be ready for the dyno by Christmas.
As I said in another post the heads look good. The anodized coating is impressive and the AFR logo on the front of the head is sharp. Hope the run as good as they look.

Yeah I ordered both sets at the same time but but only one set came in so far. Got all the brackets taken apart that I want to powdercoat so that stuff will go to the shop Monday.
