I'm saving money all over the place.

I think that I'll have 'em magnafluxed.

They look old. I don't know for sure that they are rotten.
But I know how exhaust manifolds can be.
I know for sure that I have a couple bad gaskets.

With this money I'm saving... I would sure like new controls.

I would rather have separate shift and throttle controls.
I currently have the combined throttle/shift.

Anybody know how tough that would be on an OMC?

You'll need to switch cables and buy the proper end adapters for the controls and the engine-all standard stuff. Use Morse Red Jacket or Teleflex TFxtreme-you'll be glad you did.

I'll go along with mcollinstn for points too. Any dyno test of ignitions I've ever read , points produce the same or MORE hp up to 5000 rpms than electronic ones. Over 5000 (2500 @ dist.) your begin to go beyond the physical limitations of spring loaded points , so if you have stock power K.I.S.S.
