Default "Newer" Merc Exchaust?

Hey all,

Is there a replacement for the "older" Merc Exhaust (thru riser) to a "new" design that pipes it out and then into the riser?

Thanx

The new merc exhaust may fit the 454 & 502's, I'm not sure. You may have to change the plumbing.

You can probaly get an aftermarket setup for not much more than the merc stuff. Revolution Marine and Eddie Marine are on the lower price end.

After doing the math, the shop will do a complete stock replace for $2000.00 (not incl. labor), that's if I need the risers replaced. The motors are '96 so I figure the whole she-bang has to go.

I am interested in the Revolution Marine exhaust, but I need and EXACT replacement for stock because I have Corsa switchable exhaust. I put a set of Gils on my last boat and it was a lot of retrofitting to get them to fit. I'm paying someone to do this and don't want to eat the extra labor costs.

I just bought a set of the Revolution Marine manifolds and risers and they are going on now. Just wondering what anyone had to say about them. Looking at the manifolds, they seem to have a really good design for the runners.

Shooter, I've got the Corsa exhaust also. If you tell the guys at RM your application, they will get you the right risers for your application. The work on my motor should be done in the next week or two. If you send me an email, I'll let you know what if any problems there were with the fit. [email protected]

Check out ebay item #4513196090. It's a Mercruiser by Gil Manifold and Tailpipe. Maybe that would work for you.

I have a used set of the new Merc manifolds (aluminum manifold w/ stainless riser) from my 496 Mag HO. They've only seen one season in freshwater. They're sooo much lighter than the cast iron, and the water is plumbed around the manifold-to-riser fitting, not through it. I'll sell the pair for $300. I assume they will bolt right up to a 454/502 but would welcome expert opinions to confirm.

Shooter,
$2k is pretty steep for the stock Merc exhaust manifolds and risers for that money you should be about able to find a new set of Stainless Marine's or such to fit correctly.
Happy Holidays, it's always gift time for the boat!

Have you sold the GIL Marine Exhaust stuff?

I'm looking to replace the OSAC/BARR hardware on my Formula SR357.
