Fast Cats, 22 thru 26
Curious who has the fastest 22 thru 26 cat, does Eliminator still hold the record?
This is just for fun, check out the competition, something to do while the boats are in storeage. |
Re: Fast Cats, 25 & 26
I don't believe there is an official record for these type of boats. That being said the fastest one I have ever heard of is a DCB 26' and nearly 150 MPH!!! :D

Re: Fast Cats, 22 thru 26
I read Eliminator ran 144mph with a light layup 25 Daytona Paul Pfaff quad
rotor 598 and the Imco 4x4 drive. I don't remember if it was Hot Boat or Power Boat. That's moving in a 25, Wette Vette, changed to 22- 26 thought you might have some pictures. |
Re: Fast Cats, 25 & 26
If I remember right there was an article in PowerBoat with an HTM doing around 150+, I have a friend that is currently building HTM SS24 W/ 708CuIn quad rotor surface drive looking to get 160+

Re: Fast Cats, 25 & 26
The fastest HTM I remember was 143, but that was several years ago, Steve, sad
to say, isn't around anymore. Anything over 140 is fast, 160 will be a hell of a ride. Good Luck. |
Re: Fast Cats, 25 & 26
Yes, 160 will be, hope to see it happen this year. My buddy should be done this summer. I have a SR24 w/HP500EFI whipple charger it runs 100 + at sea level with just 6 lbs of boost, around 100 is fast enough for me. Looking to sell this one and go bigger.

Re: Fast Cats, 25 & 26
Speed is great as long as nothing goes wrong, I saw some pictures from last years Lake Shootout. There were some pictures of an HTM in trouble.

FAMILY AND PERFORMANCE BOATING
* MARCH 2001* SS-24 The radar reading 143.1 and the GPS backed it up, showing a speed of 142.9 mph HTM requires very little time to get up to these record breaking speeds THE BOAT WAS JUST PLAIN AWESOME “Throws you back in your seat”, The torque was unbelievable, as was the speed sensation that you feel as you lean on the throttle. It is equally stable, rock solid in fact. The Coors Lite IHBA World Finals, HTM owner Steve Coulombe stole the show in his 24-foot htm ss, blazing down the liquid quarter mile at a top speed of 126.MPH with an et of 9.47 seconds. |
