Big block billy do you see much air time ? do you lose water presure ? Im woried about cooking a valve with no water presure I have seen it done

When you guys drill the sides of your drives, do you then reseal or paint the tapped hole before installing the fitting? Seems like the raw Al. will corrode if not treated.

Probaly a good idea silicone on threads good /Had weird deal teflon tape on fuel fitings ended in needel and seat causeing leaky fuel bowl who would of thunk it . Motor guy sais always use silicone..

My fittings and hose are SS. Did not not paint and use never seize. I do have to take the fitting out once in a while to remove the pieces of wood. River boating is so much fun.

Salt is very diferent than fresh water on corosion

They used a thread sealant.

Bringing this thread back to life...

Is it ok to still use the drive pickup for the engine cooling? Or do I need a separate pickup?

I still want to use the drive pickup for the engine, I don't want a separate pickup dragging and robbing speed.

Then use the drive pickup and don't install a transom mount pickup. If you go with a transom pickup, these are some ideas you can use with the old drive water pickup.

But I'm guessing it wont work since the drive shower is above the water level when at the dock so the motor will suck air through the shower.

When moving the water pressure will quickly take care of the "air leak".
