I built an Excel chart comparing about 8 heads vs the GM. I used most all Jim V numbers to keep things consistent. I will email it to anyone who wants it.

The Elderbrok did not come in well. I got there numbers off the web site.

The Iron Eagle were the best for the $. AFR rules

If you think you are going to use all your stuff from your OEM heads on the E-brocks you are mistaken. OEM has 3/8" valve, Ebrock's have 11/32" so the retainers and locks won't work. Depending on if you have Gen 4, 5 ,or 6 heads will the rocker studs work and the springs.

Pay now or pay later.

Chris, his Edelbrocks would come with everything but springs, retainers, cups and locks. They include valves, seals, studs and guide plates for $1400.
(You will need new rockers and push rods or change the studs out possibly)

On a budget, it's hard to beat Competition Products for Canfields. A complete set with inconel exh valves, and decent springs for around $1800-$1900 (non CNC chambers and no bowl work) . Talk with Butch 1-877-233-2023.

I switched to Canfields from the Eddy's and loved them. The only issue was the accesory holes on the front were (at least on mine) were 3/8 and not the general 7/16. A drill and a tap made quick work of that however :)

Hard Anodizing is $250 option. AFR/Canfield/Dart/world/brodix are all good choices.

I checked on the Canfields. Got a good price but was also told that the exhaust is raised about 1/2 inch. That might present a problem with my exhaust either hitting the valve cover or not lining up with the back of the boat. Another reason why I was looking at the Edelbrocks is that everything is the same as a stock head.

I again need to tell everyone that I am running blowers so intake efficiency is not as critical as a N/A motor. I just need good exhaust scavenging.

I Just got a set of the 308 Iron Eagle yesterday, They look very good as cast. I was also worried about the exhaust height and the salt water effect on aluminim. I see what it does to intakes.

I am just going to clean them up and flow them the first of next week. My engine shop guy said they looked better than anything he has seen short of CNC heads. Dart tells me you can flat mill these heads .080. That could take 16cc off a 119cc chamber. That can make a stock 502 have 9.5 compression. We verified that they can be milled that much. I will add some pictures later today

BigWavz, I think your going to find the raised exhaust ports common on most aftermarket heads. Could be part of the reason the Edelbrocks do not perform as well as the others. I may be able to handle +.5" raised exhaust port as the starboard side exhaust is about even with the thru-hulls and the port side is about .5" below the centerline of the thru-hull.
