Service Manuals ...
I want to order Service Manuals for 89 454 mags ... There are no serial #'s on the Valve covers ... I believe there numbers on the block but seems near or behind the starter ? There is no way ...... any suggestions ?

Re: Service Manuals ...
I ordered mine thru Mercs publishing department. I think for around $35 a few yrs ago. Even with the engine serial #, the book still covers several motors and yrs.
From BAM website: http://www.mercruiserparts.com/shopManuals.asp from Mercury themselves: https://appcenter.mercurymarine.com/litreq/ The yr and model surely should be enough info. Might call instead of web for assurance. |
Re: Service Manuals ...
90-14499-1 will cover it.
|
Re: Service Manuals ...
Sure about that?
|
Re: Service Manuals ...
that a serial # ?
|
Re: Service Manuals ...
Thats the Merc number on my 89 manual. Covers all V-8 engines and systems 89 and earlier.
|
Re: Service Manuals ...
90-144991 yup thats it.
|
Re: Service Manuals ...
According to the BAM site, manual # 90-816463 covers 89-92 V-8's. Once you add it to your cart, the price comes down to $36.
Very good manuals. F31, Just checked thru my collection I also have that manual, #9, and it shows up to '88 on page 2. Ok, this horse is dead. :drink: |
Re: Service Manuals ...
Opps your right, the manual I listed ends with the 88 models. No diff from 89 but the other manual you listed may be different and more appropriate for the 89.

Re: Service Manuals ...
The factory manuals are still the best, price works out to $66.13 for most of them.
|
Re: Service Manuals ...
Well chit,
Guess you should have placed your order last nite as soon as I posted the link. It was still $36 then. ;) In all honesty, I thought $36 was cheap for the info from a factory service manual. Maybe just bringing the prices up to date?? |
