#1
I want to order Service Manuals for 89 454 mags ... There are no serial #'s on the Valve covers ... I believe there numbers on the block but seems near or behind the starter ? There is no way ...... any suggestions ?

I ordered mine thru Mercs publishing department. I think for around $35 a few yrs ago. Even with the engine serial #, the book still covers several motors and yrs.
From BAM website:
http://www.mercruiserparts.com/shopManuals.asp
from Mercury themselves:
https://appcenter.mercurymarine.com/litreq/
The yr and model surely should be enough info. Might call instead of web for assurance.

According to the BAM site, manual # 90-816463 covers 89-92 V-8's. Once you add it to your cart, the price comes down to $36.
Very good manuals.
F31,
Just checked thru my collection
I also have that manual, #9, and it shows up to '88 on page 2.
Ok, this horse is dead.

I hate to do this, but Mercury had their annual price increase Jan 3, and guess what they DOUBLED the price of?
ALL THE MANUALS
Sorry everybody, someone over at Merc must have decided the publications department was not making enough money.
