I may be a little off base here, I had a guy tell me once that on the bunks to squirt Dawn detergent on them, lets the boat slide up easier and dont have to worry bout things, only prob would be is wax as Dawn will remove wax.

Just one person's opinion, but after replacing my 3" winch strap, I took a close look and my old one and a few others and it seemed that exposure to the elements and ultraviolet light really caused them to deteriorate fast. They reminded me of the webbing on some old lawn chairs I threw out about 10 years ago. Wildthing taz found himself some real straps!

how are you getting wax where your bunks are anyway? use a mild soap and not a grease cutter and you will be fine, it is easy to find, it is the .99 cent stuff....

had a guy that would haul it out with straps so the hull could waxed nce a year, they just always told me no detergent or high detergent ones, always made sense to me. We used to put joy on the bottoms of pots and pans on camping trips, let it dry and cooked away, made it easier to clean.
Oh and didnt lil douche sell 8 mph wax, lmao???

it's when you pull out of a steep ramp and trailer flexes the strap breaks. it's happend more than once. you don't pull 12,000 lbs up by a strap or on soap. its only ment to hold the boat.
