Default compression ratio

What Compression ratio should I go with? I plane on using large Oval port heads and a 218 224 @ .50 comp cam. The rest of the motor will be stock. Looks like some of my pistion choices would make 8.5 to 1 or 9.3 to 1.
what would be the best to go with?

thanks
dan

Default Re: compression ratio

That would depend on the availability of fuel in your area. As long as you can get 93 octane, I would go with 9.3 compression. Some guys here have trouble getting higher octane premium fuel on the water.
