Hey Gents,
Im brought my torn down 351W to a machine shop that was reccomended to me. I was told that the cylinders need to be bored and obviously I'll need new pistons. In addition all the gaskets, rings etc need to be replaced. The owner of the shop says he has some good stock 351 heads laying around for me. He seemed unsure as to how much this all was going to cost and told me that he would "let me know" before he did anything. He did tell me that that just the assembly (short block) would be 300 and assmebly (long block) would be 500. What do you guys think. This is the first time I've had anything machined so I have no idea whats fair and whats not. Important thing to consider is that I'm looking to bring this motor to stock, nothing will be high performance.
Thanks

Nothing is out of line. I would have him give you a quote and some kind of warranty then I would look at Jasper Engines website and get a quote. They come with a full 1 year warranty parts and labor.
