I would be concerned with the 1/2" size dump, but that might just be enough...

I'm going to install a pressure gauge as well. What pressure should I try for at WOT?

I like to see around 20 psi.

With the Merc valve in my setup, when the valve opens, it pulses water out about six feet out the dump! And this is a 1" hose and dump!
But, it's pulsing out, instead of a steady stream, so maybe the 1/2" will be enough.

I think you would need 2 of those if using a crossover and no circulation pump. I used a similar valve from McMaster Carr and wound up with two in the system. One is set a slightly higher pressure than the other. Sort of balance so one is full open at 10 PSI and then the other one start opening at 15 or so. This results in pressures of 5 at idle and steadily builds to about 18 at 3000 rpm and may see 19 at WOT. Just have to balance them. I ported both 1/2 to a 3/4 dump aimed at the top cap of the Bravo.

Different size spring wire. Or possibly make a new cap with an adjusting screw to vary the spring pressure. But then who wants to spend $200 then have to modify it?

The valve in the CPPerformance link is what I tried. It is a Watts brand valve. I bought mine from Teague for a mere $100 with a fitting a few yrs ago. All these dealers use the same Watts valve, then mark up the price at unbelievable prices. Mine was the 1/2" and no where big enough. Even at full open, it still would not dump enough water to lower my pressure. A 3/4" min. will be needed. I seen these same valves for $20-30??
