Exhaust manifolds gaskets
I am putting a set of GLM cast iron manifolds and risers on a 99 Volvo SBC (vortex) heads). I assume the gaskets go on dry and I was wondering if the GLM gaskets any good, they seem sorta cheap and I sure on't want a failure. I did a search here and saw some people use the Moore performance ones that are laminate graphite. Others recommend Fel-pro for BBC. Should I try to get the OEM ones? Anyone know the fel-pro part number for SBC vortex, maybe I could find them locally? Thoughts/advice, thanks.

Re: Exhaust manifolds gaskets
I use mr. gasket on all my motors except anything with headers gets felpro, and arp header bolts. You can go to pep boys or auto zone and get the Mr gasket ones for apx. $7 a set. I have never had a failure. Mr gasket makes a better grade exh gasket for around $20 a pr. but aren't necessary. The gaskets I use are white (most likely asbestos). Make sure to use anti sieze paste on the bolts. I recommend ss bolts as well , they are cheap enough and save time and banged up knuckles when it's time to take it apart. BBB
