“Bob and I just like to race and we enjoy the competition”, stated Mitch Miller the Driver of the CMS / Castaway race boat, “we would like to see everyone in our class start racing together again, I think this should clear up any issues the teams have regarding racing against us. Re: Super Cat Challenge

I had heard that CMS was going to race in ST.Clair.Thats a good offer but Bob and Mitch know where the boats are,so come to St.Clair and run against the best in Cat Lite.I dont think anybody in this class needs their entry fee paid for.

Wil

PS
If you want to beat the best you have to start with Page and the defending national champion Joey Gratton.

thanks i gd, I found it.
I am sure this is a good will gesture but IMO Too little Too late, and to not include the other classes, certainly hurts any chance they have of making this work.

Re: Super Cat Challenge

What about the 2006 fees? and the 2 race minumum?? the following of the UIM rule??? For the sake of competition would CMS be willing to go over and race OSS Worlds?? The OSS teams would pay his way Im sure.

Re: Super Cat Challenge

Bob and Mitch.... Its great to see someone come foward and at least make the effert and put up that type of money to try to get racers together...

Pete...you used to race....if the SCL guys are interested they will make the call to Mitch or Bob...if you personally feel you need a answer pick up the phone....

Wil....come on bud....weather anyone takes them up on this offer at least its being made....Some of you guys really need to look at what your writing....the biggest complaint from some OSS racers was the fee's....now there willing to cover it and put up money....and you say "I dont think anybody in this class needs their entry fee paid for".

How about we let the racers in that class decide....please...

Do you mean Popeyes Chicken #13? That is the boat in super cat light.
What race is the challenge for? My brother is the driver for Popeyes Chicken #13 and I think I can persuade him to take this challenge. Any more info you can give me would be great. :fish:

Gino,
Fair enough, just thought it would be easier for one team to join the majority than the other way around.Hopefully we,as fans, will see them all together at some point.Looking forward to see the new boat, congratulations.

Manitie I couldnt agree more....
Bob is trying to help the growth of this sport for cryin out loud. Reggie did it with Super V last year, puttin up 20 G's . Thats why I respect the SBI/APBA group.

Re: Super Cat Challenge

Wil....its cool...and so you know, It will be cool if CMS did a OSS race....but I give Bob and Mitch a lot of credit for being President of APBA and showing up to OSS 1st race last year in Biloxi was pretty cool...
Hope to see ya at the races...SBI/APBA or OSS....

Shane,
ALL the teams in OSS are the very best,I was referring to Joey because he is the defending champion in that class.Every single team is tough, thats why every class is so competitive. The next few races are going to be very exciting since every class is close in the points chase.Who is your favorite in every class?

Re: Super Cat Challenge

Be interesteing to see who is up for it. I know OSS Teams have always made a big deal about the purse that they pay that was all we heard for months.Well the big money is on the table now so lets see who thinks they can hang... :evilb: :evilb:

SVL4 06-26-2005 02:17 PM

Re: Super Cat Challenge

Frank,
Don't be part of the problem,Be part of the solution.Bottom line,OSS does offer a better purse but in this case is about principle and loyalty to the groups we race with. Its obvious that SCL challenge is nothing more than an attempt to buy quality boats for your event. Please don't tell me what a great offer this is,because this offer is extended to every SBI/APBA team every time OSS races. If any SCL team wonts to test whether they can hang as you put it,all they have to do is race against the OSS fleet. Before everybody jumps all over this post, its about the fact that there are 6 teams in OSS and 2 teams in SBI/APBA.Frank,I respect your loyalty to SBI/APBA,but please respect ours to OSS.

Your friend,
Wil

Re: Super Cat Challenge

Seems like it would be easier to bring one team over to OSS, every team put in $2,000 and you would have an extra $20,000 on top of thr regular prize money, winner take all hmmmmmmmmmm!

Xtremeracing 06-26-2005 02:36 PM

Re: Super Cat Challenge

Wil,

I do respect your choice, but is it any different then OSS buying Super Stock boat. Atleast Bob is open and up front about it and not having secert conferance call. The sword is always double edged, and if no one is interested when so be it...Time will tell.

Your good friend,
Frank

Re: Super Cat Challenge

Wil,

There are a lot of boats crossing over and that might be the start of better things. This gives the team a choice and to see what each organization has to offer. You have teams like Pier 57, JBS Racing, Twisted Metal, Black Pearl, Bacardi Silver, MoJo, Pour it on, Loan Shark, and Bermuda Berrycuda racing both organization and it seems to be working for them. Most will be in Sarasota racing where and when they want. Wil we need to lower the fences and we will all be better off each team needs to make their own choice as a team not a group.
Wil your right we will make it work for sure,it might take time but some how it will work, as long as there are teams to race it will get better.
Good Luck in your next race and be safe buddy ,and STAY together your do to kick some A$$.
