Default Need Lower Gears for #5's

I originally posted this under the General Tech section, but have had no luck. I figure maybe there is a race team out there who has experimented with different gear sets and has a set of lowers that did not work for them but are in good shape. If so, maybe you would be able to help out a fellow boater.

I currently have the stock 1.50 gears in my #5 drives on my 33 Daytona. I am aiming for a final drive ratio of around 1.24-1.28 . I need the necessary gears for my lowers to achieve this gear ratio as I an turning too many RPM's with my current motors. I'm running 35 x 17 cleavers.

Anyone have any such gears in good condition they want to part with or know where I can score a set reasonably?

Thanks,

Laveyman

Hey Laveyman,

Call Al Chesley from Addictcive Watersports in Tampa (P4-11, Kean University) and he can probably help you out. His number is 813-247-3049.

Mat at TNT Custom Rigging might also be able to help we modify many of those gears for them for the race drives. 1-305-944-2118

Hey Mark -

Scotty was able to get you a shirt from Will. I can pick it up in Dania and mail it to you if you'd like.

Thanks for the leads! I'm leaving tonight to get hitched. I'll start malking calls when I get back next week!

Good Luck!
Gary Teague said he has spoken to Pat about my drives, and he doesn't work on #5's.

I'm sure Merc and BAM have the gears, but I'm trying to find a nice set use "experienced" geras first to save on costs. Making these repairs to my motors and upgrading the drives on a lowly cops wages is taxing!
