What we need is for all the sanctioning bodies to put there differences aside and atleast once all come together on 1 course neutral to all and have a kick ass event and to hell with all the political BS. Just my .02

Bern, buddy, I think everyone has voiced their opinion on this and is just tired of it. There are a few people like Smitty that are trying to fix things but both sides have valid points and until some type of compromise can be made things will stay the same. It's a shame, but we have to deal with it.

As an aside, anyone can come to race in Cambridge, so bring em all

hooked up with the OPA last season and gave them a hand volunteering for a few races ie...sweep boat in Point and Camden and Medic boat in the 2nd Point race had had a blast. Then followed the crew to Key West for the Worlds and as if i hadnt met enuff killer people in my neck of the woods was able to meet a bunch more...actually arranged my vaca this year to go back to Key West but after further review have been informed will be less then 1/2 the turn out due to POLITICS. Smitty as well as Augie are busting there perverbial balls to try and do the right thing...just wish everyone else in similar positions would do the same. It may never be Nascar but i'll tell ya 1 thing could be twice the fun. You find me one Nascar event you can go to where guys like AMF/Jersey Boys or Love Muscle or any others for that matter open there doors to the fans. WISHFUL THINKING I GUESS ON MY PART !!

And as far as your invite to Camden if i had the pockets to do it...you could count me in. Thanks for the reply.

Great post Bern.........one national sanctioning body is the only way offshore powerboat racing will ever reach its true potential for the racers and the fans.

we know what we all want. But unfortunately, it is unlikely to happen anytime soon. both organizations have their own goals and they both seem to be succeeding.

Why do we have to rehash this topic? Its only gonna get ugly.

I don't normaly post in this forum unless I have something to say. From a fan that supports & respects all the racers, I enjoy what every organization does. I try like hell to get to all the races I can. I too would like to see differences put aside, but that's not going to happen. I love this sport, I would love to see it flourish the same way NASCAR did over the past several years. I wish success to all the teams and organizations, I cherish the memories I have with my kids going to the races. I will continue coming to the events. Just a fans view point, nothing to read into. Be safe guy's out on the water.
