For spectators,bigger is better for me I like 3-4 footers max. I was in Cape Cod the year APBA raced in that big stuff for 50 miles and it was no fun after the 2nd lap. Further more not many people can afford to run in that big stuff and expect to make the next race or even the rest of the season. You will break your boat and drive much quicker. We all say we like it big and then when you get in it I have seen plenty of people back way off or even not race there boats. ASK FRANK he loves the SBI big water races where he can really air out his boat and fly across the big stuff. I have never seen lap speeds like his when its the big stuff. Way to go Kool Hand.

Big is good for us guys with 35-40 foot boats. I've raced big water in a 22-28 footer and man it kills you.

Cleveland is a great example of a good mix. about (2) miles behind the break-wall and (3) miles outside in the sloppy cross chop of good old Lake Erie.
