Matt Reed/ Drv. of IMCO update
As MANY of you have called me looking for an update on Matt Reed and his wife Stacey from Biloxi, well I am GLAD to report he and Stacey are doing well other than still being in shock of the whole thing. Matt was able to make a call to me today and told me that they survived with many stories. His house is "ok", but his boat and Corvette are gone. Ok, boat is gone, Vette is sunk... He had 12' of water under his house, and had his house not be on stilts it would not have made it.
They are ok and right now in Northern Alabama. They told me, no one would recognize Biloxi at all, and that they are very shocked over the whole experience. They also wanted to let me know, that they are very thankful for all of the kind thoughts and prayers…
I will update everyone more, as I get with Matt again.
Ben

Saw video this morning on CNN. Matt's lucky he has anything left. The bride going into Biloxi from the north is GONE the entire roadway was washed off and only the pylons remain. The only thing remaining at Point Cadet is the old sea plane hanger where OSS had their dry pits in April. The floating Palace Casino isn't, its sunk. All the houses in that neighborhood are gone. The other gulf front casinos were tour lose from their moorings and washed across the street. Unbelievable!!!! Glad to hear you are alright and hopefully will see you in Destin.

Re: Matt Reed/ Drv. of IMCO update
Hi all this is Matt posting under Bens account,
I just want to thank everyone for their prayers and kind words. Stacey and I have been blessed through this event to this point. We are safe and sound in Alexander City, AL.
The destruction is mind blowing. We spent two days walking through the rubble searching for friends. There are many we were unable to locate. I can only hope and pray that they left the area before the storm. Our loses are small compared to so many others. We were able to leave Biloxi yesterday about 3:00 AM. I will be returning to Biloxi Saturday to establish a command center for all Palace Casino Resort employees. Our plan is to locate temporary housing, distribute payroll and transport as many of our 1200 employees as possible to safe relief areas . The needs for the citizens of Biloxi are incredible. I will post as soon as possible where donations can be made for those who are interested.
thanks again for your prayers we will attempt to keep everyone posted as we are able.

Re: Matt Reed/ Drv. of IMCO update
It has taken a little longer to get to a computer than I had hoped to update any interested in Biloxi. The spirits of our community are very high. We know we have a long way to go before any since of normalcy is realized. However, due to the help of so many caring people throughtout the US we know we dont have to fight this battle alone.
I have received numerous calls and messeges over the past two weeks. Some calls I have been able to return and some I was unable due to very poor phone service in our area. I thank you for your calls, it means the world to me and my family. Most of these calls where asking if they could do anything to assist us with anything. Me and my family have been very fortunate throughout this event and my losses are small compared to so many others. If I were to identify a charitable organization that I have grown to have the most respect for, it would to be the American Red Cross. In the first few days immediately following Katrina when it appeared the world had forgotten us the American Red Cross was there in full force. If you are interested in helping, Red Cross would be a great place to start.
In additon, I have the incredible task of laying off 1200 Palace Casino family members Sept. 19, 2005. Due a such a long exspected rebuild process ( 1 - 1 1/2 years), we will not be unable be keep our associates on payroll. These are an incedible group of people that many of you in OSS may have meet during your stay in Biloxi. In addition to many losing there homes and possessions they are losing there jobs. I am seeking any assistance in identifiing jobs and or housing anywhere in the southeast for as many families as possible. One family at a time we can make a difference.
Please call if you have any leads on jobs and or housing.
thank you,
Matt Reed
