Thanks to SBI/APBA, Russ and all the folks that worked so hard and making this a great event..
Everything was in one big area...
The Dry Pits
The Wet Pits
The Mustang display
The Hydro's
THE HOOTERS GIRLS
The Band
The food and drinks
Registration
The 5k Run
The Fireworks
The radio station THE SHARK with live remotes all 3 days
You couldn't ask for a better set up...they had the dry pits right on the street overlooking the water and the crane 50 yards away from us....they had from Main St. to the end of Waterfront Park block off...
The folks there were great...they would come up to you and tell you how the last time they seen these types of races was 30 years ago when they were 10 - 12 years old...
The Mayor and city officals could have not been any nicer to us...hanging out with the racers.....
The E.C. Fire Dept washed our boats on Sat and Sunday with the fire truck....
Thanks to our Coast Guard and the fish and game officers..
The police treated us great....I even got to ride on the boat to the crane and didn't get a ticket....
The differance I seen in this site compared to some others....these folks were excited on us being there...and said all weekend..just let us know what else we can do from you...the hospitality was great....and kept saying we hope you come back next year....
Thanks to the teams for traveling for hundreds of miles for a Divisional.....Once again...what a great time as always....
The teams that put on a show were
P-5 David B.J.
P-4 Nesquik
P-2 Scream Machine ( what a great time having these guys back...)
SVL- Hometown Morg.
SV- #15 Rio Roses
#76 Fountain ( the 35')
and us....
I have a bunch of pics I will post soon.....
Thanks again for a great time....

Bruce,
We put the air scoops on and of course we are now running 10+ mph more now that were not in guard. mode...
My Crew Chief Brandon and I put in the water last Thurs. before leaving for E.C. to see if we were getting enough air. it was only the 2nd time she seen water...
We ran right at 100 with stock props that were not labed....and only running around 5150 rpms in 1 top 2's in 90 degree heat...
We still have a lot of dialing in to do....and there is plenty of room for a lot of MPH's to be added...
She handles great...we need to find her limits though....its not like we can judge from prior Dragon Race Boats..so we will be the ginny pigs..and its great to have Craig in the boat.....this boat is different then a lot of the other race boats.....
We ran as fast as we could get it on Sat during the speed rounds, Only turning about 5000 again we only had one set of props and one set of drives....not much we could do but take her out and see how it would hanlde....we had no exceleration at all...
I think our lap speed was around 84mph. the first lap you went around to warm the engines and the 2nd they started the clock and was your lap time and the 3rd was for the fans....but it was a little tricky around 3 and 4 with all the pillions coming out of 4...
On Sunday we had fuel problems right from the start...even going out to the milling area...we could only get one engine to run between 2500 and 4000 rpms...so we just did what we could...the 2 Fountains ran great...
There were deck to deck for a while then the #76 pulled away...and towards the end I think the #15 passed it at the finish....
The boat is back in Lauderdale..its time to go to work and get all the kinks out and do a lot of testing....Deerfield is right in Craigs backyard....We need to make a great showing for a brand new boat....and competing against some great teams...
Craig has no tolerance, but for the Dragon to be in one place only on the race course.....so its time to go to work....

Ryan,
I don't know what the name of the boat was then....Its the one that has the side by side canopys with the 4 seats in it....I heard it was one of the first race boats built like that...
The guys that ran the little Donzi called the mailman back then are in the boat....Had a great time with those guys....they have been busting there butts with the boat for like 2 years and here it is..they were thrilled on how it ran...

Gino,
Thanks for the update! We wanted to be there, but our unscheduled engine rebuild got in the way...sorry we missed it.
I'm glad to hear things went well. Dave Thompson said the city is interested in getting on the national circuit next year...hopefully so...we want to be there next year.
