Funny Story
#1
This weekend in Camden Team Lavey Craft rolled the boat(not funny). But.....when Brian Devlin was floating in the water he noticed Tow Boat US comming in for the "kill" and he told them(from the water) he would let it sink before he would allow them to hook the boat. The boat was hooked by Kean and brought to the cranes where it was uprighted and put on the trailer. I guess it was a lesson learned from previous posts on here. It was funny to be on shore and watch him wave away tow boat us......and them looking dazed and confused.

We really want to thank everyone who helped us out this weeked, from the rescue divers who were on scene immediately, the volunteers on the turn boat that ultimately towed our boat to saftey; the Coast Gaurd crew that picked us out of the water along with with Camden Police Dept; and the medical crews who made sure we were all right.
Thank You. Thank You. Thank You.

I'll tell ya, that Towobat/ US guy was pissed!
He had already hooked the boat, we went up to him and told him the owner didnt want him touching it and didnt authorize him to tow it. so he had to untie from it.
As I was hooking up to the Laveycraft , he pulled up alongside us, and yelled over, " nice move, just want you to know if theres a problem, it's your responsibility Captain!!" then took off ! Oh well, guess he was a little upset he did'nt get his salvage rights!!

We lost a fuel pump and sea tow moved in, hooked up, then we go t the boat started again and they didn't want to unhook before they got PAID !!! They were hooked to us for just a few minutes and they wanted $250.00 !!! Bull shizit !!!! Anyhow, glad you guys are ok and the boat didn't suffer any more damage than it did. Dave

In all fairness to Boat / US. I heard them offer assistance, free of charge over the VHF. I know all the horror stories regarding SeaTow and I would fear them as well. But, in this case Boat / US was there for us.

ive got another heart warming sea tow story. About 10 years ago i hit a rock off sag harbor,L.I. (*** harbor) and the harbor master heard me on the radio telling my friend to back off, the bouy was marked wrong, so the harbor master and a slew of local boats (all coincedently having pumps on board) came to our "rescue" . long story short the s--mbag from sea tow never put a line on the boat and the low life marina owner, who i will name rick pickering of ship ashore marina billed my insurance company $9000.00 for the tow plus 24,000.00 bucks to f--k my boat up. By being a ball breaker i got the bouy changed and who ever else they screwed got the pricks arrested years later, the boat was a 40' mainship, which i still have and had to go over everything these a-holes screwed up. Moral of the story if i'm sinking and see tow comes to my aid i will not only wave them off, i will shoot a flare into there boat.

Bruce,
They didn't want to release it. The captain told us they were "only" going to charge them $140 to tow it the 100 or so yards to the crane.
You heard free, I heard $140, who knows what Brian was going to hear once they got there. We were headed that way anyway.

While they were one of the first boats on scene they had no interest in pulling us from the water
Thanks again everyone who helped in getting the boat saftely to the crane, we will be running in Chatanooga thanks to all of you.
