Re: St. Pete Race Course Details
I spoke to them yesterday. The course has been finalized but hasn't be released yet.
Don Cesar is the S/F line.
I think they are trying to find a wet pit area closer to the race course.

If the launch area is at Ft. Desoto, are they planning on trying to go through the unmarked cut into the Gulf or take the channel back to the Intercoastal and out.
I've been through that cut several times and it is VERY VERY tricky. The Intercoastal route is about 15 miles from Ft. Desoto to the Don Cesar.

Ft Desoto to Don Cesar is NOT 15 miles. maybe 5. through the intercoastal. Similar to Ft meyers.
Bunces pass is easy. you just have to go out about a half a mile to avoid the sand bar.
These are pro drivers and there will be a pace boat to lead us through.
I heard the course is the SAME as Corpus!!!!!

Still up in the air where and if I will race....the "Turtle" needs some speed. Can I get a 500# weight reduction?
I'm a member of OSS and SBI/APBA, maybe I can run Wed in Key West and shoot back to St. Pete for Thursday race, back down to KW for Saturday. Depending on how (and if) I fininsh I could decide where to race on Sunday.
Think anyone would care if I pitted my boat in my slip at Terra Verde? 1/2 mile from my slip to the Don.

Excellent course latout! Looks similar to Corpus. I really like the mixture of left and right hand turns. Definately gets the driver more involved.
