Not being a professional rigger I couldn't say for certain, but I would be both boats would not be set up the same with the difference in Power, drives, weight, and everything else. Could it be done, yes, but doubtful that you could run competitively in both classes.

9000lbs in SC (OSO) has to be FIXED and remain there for the season...500 could move for a total of 9500...so no a SC could not do a SCL race at 8700 (they use the 3% rule) if they wanted to continue running SC for the remainder of the year.

I would like to see some real offshore racing implemented into the seasons to see which boat is really superior. Racing on lakes, rivers or flat ocean(natures fault) is not the way to decide a superior hull design. Throw a few 3-4footer's into the mix and then you can see what the overall best hull really is.
I think if someone actually builds the new Aerospeed Marine by Doug Wright that will throw a wrench into things. I really feel that his designs could be a superior combination for sure. With that being said Best Wishes to all racers and there Hull designers in the 2006 season.
