SVL growing strong !!!!!

With our newest additions of Bruce Seroff "Simply Awesome" and Cory Shantry of "Xtreme Liquid Assets", we now have 9 SVL boats registered to run OSS. Hopefully, we have a few more by the time the season kicks off in April.

Wild Ride
Screamin Eagle
Imco
Lavey Craft
Xtreme Liquid Assets
WHM mini me
Simply Awesome
Typhoon
Wild Card

This will make for some very exciting racing in V lite.

Of the 30 boats registered to make the Puerto Rico race, 9 of them will be Vee Lites. How cool is that?

We are very excited about the upcoming season.

There are a few more boats out there ready to go.
So, come on guys. Now is the time to get into an affordable competitive class. Dont miss the bus.

The more boats the bigger the purse!!!!!

SHOW ME THE MONEY !!!!!

The OSS website shows 9 registered SVL's in 2005. The average number of participants was 6. I'll be curious to see how many end up in Puerto Rico - not bashing, just skeptical.

No worries at all - just pointing out the historical facts.

To Be Registered For The Puerto Rico Race You Must Have Already Paid The Entry Fee--if 9 Boats Have Registered Id Be Surprised If Any Didnt Show After Paing The Money.

Pete B - will put randy on the bottom because randy like "bottom" , pete you gotta work on the kiss of fire guys and the doc svl is shaping up to be a great class this year with the new boats if one like competition this is the place to be ( thats why we are here) and the only reason I can see for one to stay away is fear of competition ,
If anyone out there is up for a tough class speak up there are a few boats out there that are not racing that we can ferret out for interested parties

Re: SVL growing strong !!!!!

Phantom,
The reason the site shows nine is because there are nine present paid members in SVL.If you noticed Extreme liquid assets did not race with us last year and thats why he has a "0" for points next to the boats name.Every boat that was on the site last year paid their membership. One thing about our class is we show up ALL THE TIME.You are welcome to join us anytime you want.Like Larry pointed out,You want competition, you know where to find it.

Wil

P.S.
Shane,we wish you would reconsidered.

What about High Noon joining in the fun?

TYPHOON 01-22-2006 09:26 AM

Re: SVL growing strong !!!!!

High Noon has had the boat for two years and only raced once! They know where the competition is. Im sure if they come out this year they will be fired up to race against 9 other boats. Who and why would anybody buy or build a canopy boat and not race against as many boats as you can find? The cost of these boats and time it takes is a big investment. Its a new year lets all get together on one race course and have the best class.

Re: SVL growing strong !!!!!

Commitment to race ALL races are a important consideration of racing,
OSS will have a true National curcuit, Some may not be able to commit due to work, personal reasons whatever they maybe. With that being said,
it is great to see 9 teams have commited. hopefully as the season progresses more will see that this is a class that is affordable, and very competitive.

As for the boats out there for sale, with less than 90 days before the first race, so buying one that is ready with little to no extra re-rigging should be paramount. Extreme vortec would be the best suited for this. IMO

Pete B. hit the nail on the head (above quote) with commitment to work, personal reasons and scheduling conflicts. I can assure you wherever we choose to race, it is not because we feel one organization is better than the other or that we are hiding from competition, it is solely based on the above. We have always raced purely for the fun of it and have never met anyone we disliked.

Reggie and Bennie were approached about building a SVL hull in 2001. They said that they would be interested in talking about it. It never went any farther than that at the time.

there is one team, I know of that is considering it, but the price tag is a bit steep. They are seeking sponsors to help with the program.

We've talked about it, but it would be a crime to change the F1 its just too nice :D. Ready to buy a new one but the wife frowns on owning 2 race boats at a time. Might be time to sell F1 and step up, you guys are going to have some great racing this year!

Lavey Craft is ready to build. We have a half dozen qoutes out there on new SVL's all new teams. I think this is going to be GREAT YEAR! We can build a complete race boats in 12 weeks or less. Lavey Craft is working hard on building a team support team with a team support truck for the Race sites. Just need to get some more boats out there.

Are you infering that LaveyCraft is an inferior product? Pick up any Hot Boat or PowerBoat mag and every review complements LaveyCraft on their Quality and attention to detail. Dave, I have'nt read any reviews on Extreme lately, but I know you produce a nice boat.

My F1 boat has almost 50 races and still looks new. I don't know of any incidents of a LaveyCraft delaminating as you suggest and I don't think most people consider LaveyCraft a mass produced Bayliner. All laveyCrafts are also built "all hands on". Unless you are building boats from the ground up and not using molds, you are not building true custom boats. You use molds same as every other builder. LaveyCraft just has the facilities and the personel to produce more boats from their molds. Unless your using that superior slow curing 2 month resin in your boats. :D

Dave to comment on your "Extreme was in front of Lavey at the worlds", congratulations! Your boats ran good, see you on the water next year.

Dave,

Just had an idea. Why don't you buy Shane's boat back and you and Frank can go show Wil and the rest of the OSS VL boats how you match up. How great would that racing be? It will be a shame to see that boat sit this year, hopefully someone will step up its definately a comptitive boat.

All in fun. Take care.

Yea Dave at the end of the day the little white boat won. But if memory serves me right I think my F1 Spanked the little white boat in Ft Lauderdale. And the little white boat even had a head start. Also I recall us in front of the little white boat on Wednesday until my driver decided to cut inside an F 2 boat. And don't even get me going on what happen Sat. How many boats do you know that roll over and get back up and continue to race and almost catch the little white boat AKA your boat. I 'v never said anything bad or negative about your boats. So much for trying to build the class. Haa Dave.

Here is one! :drink:

Delaminated the bottom, it grabbed hard in the corner at the Barnegat Bay Race, did a complete roll throwing the crew out, boat landed right side up, crew swam back got the engines started and finished the race.
At the end of that day, the owner of the boat asked if I wanted to be their Navigator after all that. I said sure! What was the chances of that happening again? :drink:
Besides, a team that was that determined to win, I certainly wanted to be on it!
