The last time I checked neither organization was even close to NASCAR, but if I had a svl, cat lite or cat and I wanted to race....you can do the math. I suppose beating one boat lets you call yourself a world chump...yeah that sounds like a nascar organization, why would the classes with the most boats already feel the need to pay all the fees to the organization with less boats in that class, as dhaw likes to state "you just pissed on your own foot" you want to race more boats but don't want to join the organization with the most boats in your class!
Work on the solution, we all know the problem, why should money be the issue... the money should come from the site and supporters, not from the racers that already paid at there respective organization to race. You would think a smart business man could make money from a larger event, instead of trying to gouge the participants that make the event, thats like me telling bob to pay me to put a hvac system in my building?

Mark, I would think the permit holder and permit grantee would be more interested in hosting a larger event, not collecting registration fees, but who cares I will have fun racing 9 other boats if one or two are missing then so be it, I am sure they will be happy they have a fifty fifty shot at being the "world Champion"? This race should be about the racers and supporting the sport, you obviously know all the breakdowns in the negoiations so enlight us please!

Vinny....

I started this tread just to say can the OSS racers just take another look at racing on different dates the the SBI Worlds....that's all.....we have seen enough...that we can tell both SBI/APBA and OSS will not get along....so each Organizatios can go its seperate way....and let the racers race....
But having it on the same weekend is not helping the fans, sponsors, the city of Destin or the sport....

Honestly Vinny.....you can't see my point...

SBI/ABPA are having there own Worlds and OSS is having there Worlds...that's all fine....no one is supprised at that...

but if OSS is going to get OPA to race in there Worlds....you get everything you want...you will have the 70 boats and SBI will have there 35 boats....so if OSS holds there Worlds a week later...whats the problem...the OPA guys are going to run your Worlds....and you pick up 5 or so more boats after the Key West race....and everyone win's....
If your concern is that some boats might do both....you should be happy.....because there just like you...a racer....

On the piont of paying for racing 2 Organizations....stop and think....you are asking the same of me and others that want to race your Worlds....and were willing.....

You see both OSS and SBI/APBA are alike in a lot of cases...

You both changed your rules to get the boat count up last year....and you both are charging for the other Organizations racers to race there Worlds...

Do you not see why I just asked if you guys could just take another look at the dates.....that's all nothing more..nothing less....

Gino what part of OSS wanted to go to Key West but SBI wasn't flexible don't you understand. They asked for the same stuff they got in 2004 but were rejected. They tried since the day after the race in NOV to get this done. They aren't giving in. YOU DO THE MATH ........IF........OSS and OPA didn't go to KW how many boats will be there?????

Ryan,

Have you spoke to OPA and know it as a fact that OPA is racing with OSS at the Worlds....????
Your last post was correct they asked for SIMILAR things this race, in the past you post the same things as "04"...big difference.
It really doesn't matter at this point OSS has their race and life will go on, and from what I hear they have a 5 yr. deal Congratulation OSS for putting a great race site together...best of luck to all the racers.

Ryan....I respect your opion and you been around this sport longer then I will ever be....But maybe I started this post and everyone is taking it wrong....and I'm sorry....

To clarify why I started this tread was for one reason.....I DON'T care who's fault it is or isn't why we all won't be racing in Key West.....I never said it was OSS's fault and I never said it was SBI/APBA's fault.....and I respected boths sides for trying...DOSE EVERYONE SEE WHAT I'M SAYING.....IN MY VEIW OF IT... IT WAS 2 ORGANIZATIONS WHO TRIED TO WORK OUT A DEAL AND IT DID NOT WORK OUT.....THIS HAPPENDS EVERYDAY IN LIFE......I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH IT AND I'M NOT GOING TO HOLD IN MY MINED EITHER SIDE ACCOUNTABLE.......I hope I made that clear....

Again...this post is since OSS has OPA racing with them and they will have there 70 boats...that's great.....congrats.
and what ever SBI/APBA's boat count is congrats.

I'm happy for both sides......all I asked is since the racers are the one's who make the dissitions in OSS and you all are racers....can you take another look at the dates....if you already have the OPA at you Worlds it shouldn't matter if you run it the following week...you have your boat count.....I'm asking as a racers along with some others that would wish to attend yours as well....like Vinny said its about the compititions and I would think even you as a racer would want a shoot at racing as many SS boats as possable....

That's all guys...and I know nobody has talked about it on this post but me....but also lets not forget the fans who are speaking up on having it on different dates.....
So if I have misslead you guys on trying to put blame on OSS.....I'm not.....both Organizations tryed and it didn't work....THAT'S FACT....SINCE OSS HAS THERE WORLDS SET FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS CAN WE NOW MOVE ON AND WORK ON SOME THINGS TO GET THE RACERS AN THE FANS OPTIONS TO GO TO AS MANY RACES AS THEY CAN VICE HAVE TO CHOOSE BECAUSE OF SAME DATES....

SO YOU KNOW....I DO NOT WISH TO VOTE ON ANY SUBJECT'S THAT ARE VOTED ON IN EITHER ORGANIZATIONS...SHOW ME THE RULES AND ALL I WANT TO DO IS RACE....BUT I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE OPPERTUNITY TO DO SO......THAT'S ALL

Gino,
The only problem I see is two or more so called world championships, this gives the sport bad press and participation, seperate dates does very little to alleviate this problem. Maybe a racer union should be formed to demand a true world championship within the US, since there is little or no foriegn participation. Form a comitee to organize and oversee a world championship, with inspectors from each organization, referees from each , etc. voted on by each race boat reguardless of organization, then the finger pointing could stop. We would set the rules determine the money breakdown etc. based on a democratic vote, then the powers to be would be forced to get it right for the sake of competition and for survival and or progress of the sport.
As Mark said we would all like to know what the problem is because it does not seem that difficult to put together a joint race, its been done before and worked well.

My previous post was not to insult anyone in our class or any racer, only making a frustrated point that there is not a end of year throw down with every boat that wants to race, to see who is the best of the best on that given day.

FRANK
I DO NOT know what OPA's plans are , thats why I wrote WHAT IF????? It was mentioned somewhere else that OPA had alot of members which they do so there boats carry alot of weight. I asked how many boats would be in KW if OPA didn't show? As far as what the OSS asked for I'm sure it will come out.
