Loud, Fast and Politically Incorrect
It's shaping up to be the summer of the cigarette boat, with numbers rising and a new racing push. Our reporter on waterfront clashes, manatee alerts -- and the battle for quiet on the lake.

Forget about the Bentley, the Gulfstream jet and the sprawling mansion in the Hamptons. Nothing says conspicuous consumption quite like a cigarette boat. These high-powered watercraft cost as much as $1 million, create giant wakes, consume thousands of dollars in fuel in a single day and can drown out conversations half a mile away.

I'd have to agree with Ron, I'm not sure how positive that article is for the sport. "Weekend Warriors" "Killing Manatees" "Noise pollution"
Someone should have proof read the article before they let her off the boat.
All in all, I guess any article about the sport is better than no article at all.

I agree this is a terrible read. From my experiences at different race sites the fans love the boat races. Sure your gonna have a few party poopers but that just goes with the territory.
P.S. Why did the article keep refering to Cigarette boats was that suppose to be a jab of some sorts. Its like she couldnt get off the term Cigarette.

Many more replies in the GD section. I think a lot of general members made some great points. Check it out.

"Hannah Karp, 42, upon her recent engagement
I'm speechless. So, yes, Mark, I accept your marriage proposal! Even though I don't find you particularly attractive, or ... I can't read this. Is good-smelling a word? I can barely think. But thank you, Mark, you drive a Lexus, and you bought me this ring, which is really heavy! I can't believe I'm finally engaged! And to my mother, who said it was wrong not to put my real photo on that online dating site and that I would die alone: Go to hell."
She's a tool.
