Sorry To Hear About Your Loss Stan-- I Think We All Can Relate In Some Way.
Billy |
Stan, sorry for your loss, I too know what it feels like right now.
Last Tuesday the 21st, I had to put down my best friend for the past nine years. His name was Hunter, a 135 pound Rodesian Ridgeback who was by all accounts a gentle giant and loyal companion. He had some tumors removed from his stomach area about six months ago. Something he had also required about five years ago. Since his surgery he has been happy and healthy until about two weeks before we had to put him down. The most recent tumors removed were cancerous and spread throughout his abdomen and hind legs. Suddenly he lost muscle control of his hind legs and was down for a couple of days. He then sprang back a few days latter and was getting along ok. Then just as suddenly as before he lost total muscle control of his hind legs and the look in his eyes I saw that he had also lost the will to live. It took my wife and my daughter to load him into the back of the SUV so that I could make the trip to the vet. Standing there, looking into his eyes saying goodbye as the vet placed a siringe in his front leg was one of the most terrible experiences of my life. I didn't know how bad I was going to be missing him, but will remember him everyday as I too burried him close to us here at the house. Stan thank you for sharing your story, I have been feeling horrible. Brian |
