Default 35 Fountain P4?

What do you guys think of running P4 class with Fountain 35 classic (step hull) with 500 HPs? Is the speed a good match? Can this boat take the pounding?

35' boats with HP500's are running in P4?!?!?! Where the heck do the old A class and F1 stle of single engine boats run...P5? Where do the new guys with a 24-27' boat with 400-450hp run?
What is going on with these feeder classes?

well when you got guys with twin 1300HP running in P1 it trickles down pretty fast all the way down to guys with 600-700HP running P6...

WOW 700HP in P6? Geesh! Did the speed brackets change since 2000? Or I guess guys are pitching the props down for max aceleration and hit the rev limit at the top of the speed bracket?
I guess the guy with a mid 90's 26' with a 502 Mag or HP500 has no chance?

Real question is, can you take a pounding? Both in the boat and from guys who don't race picking apart everything they can with offshore to support there reasoning of sitting at the computor instead of in a race boat. And oh yeah the rough water, I have less trouble with the later. Louie

Yes that boat would be compeditive in P4....The team that is winning in P4 is a old F-2 boat...a 34 Phantom with 500's in it...

FeverMike....yes the old F1 boats run in P5..

Mike you have not seen it work....its hard for you to bust on it till you watch how close the racing is...the racing is closer then most if not all spec class racing....

Yeah I know, I've got to make time next year to get to a few races and check things out. I'm not busting on anything, just trying to catch up and see what is happening.
