Default how fast should this boat run with 525's?

I contacted the Broker.
I know what speed it apparently runs.
tell me your opinion on how fast it should run.

Then I'll tell you what speed I was told, and if I'm happy or not about the answer... do I need to tell my guess speed is not what the real speed is?

my F 35-7 has the same paint scheme so I had a little ''kick'' on the boat...

Id say this is the wrong section for this. Try the Formula section, but id say 72-74mph.

speed is actually more like 70 mph... honestly I wished it was more... the newer fountain 35 with 2 x 500 runs 100 mph!
hope that this older 38 with 525 would reach 80-85. so for only the 6 mph difference and the 60k more than mine, I'll keep mine! and I got the same paint scheme... so I won't really notice...but I was really disapointed...

You cant compare the Fountain to this at all. Formulas do not have a fast bottom even with the steps.

I know they are different, but I thought 15 mph slower was enough! not 30 !

The formula is also a 38 so you have to compare it to a 38 fountain which is running 96mph light with 525's. The formula is ten plus year old technology and Fountain has the best hulls ever on vee bottoms. You should be comparing it to say a T/S TG which runs around 84-86 with 525's. You also have to remember that those motors are old 525sc which were only 490hp and the newer 525efi's are running around 540hp.

No one can tell you unless you know the prop and gear ratio in the drive. The motor will turn 5450 rpms.

At the risk of sounding stupid, aren't the formula hulls significantly heavier then the fountain equivalent?
