Hey, you don't have to leave Florida to be a National and World Champion, it's pretty convenient. :drink:

I think there should be a Champion of the Universe too. I mean it's no big deal if the aliens don't show up, we were there right? :p

Jim...I agree....its not like it used to be when you had to compete against 20 boats in your class....but if someone wants to call it a world championship with only 5 boats in a class...so be it....but again...Key West is a invitational....
it just comes down to money that dose not want to be paid to John.....

Randy...I tought Steve M. said he would put in a 525 if you all came to Key West in SVL a few years ago.....I may been mistaken though....

Ron....I was woundering....what is it your offer John C. in you conditions....

Was it only the fee's...or was it more then that....saying you try to talk to John but he would not agree to what you offer dose not tell us who is being unreasonable....again...the 10 demands a few years ago were a joke....and I didn't blame John to tell you guys no.....

There are aliens there, they just dont want you to know who they are, so they can go back to their planet and brag about winning a world championship

Probably not....from looking at the OSS roster...I would say only about maybe 7 or so....but some of the SCL guys have moved to the Super Cat Series so I would think they will return again this year...but your right.....its his show....and he will run it the way he feels fit....I've learned this is a business to some and all I can do is respect it...and if we choise to run it we do...and if we don't we don't.....thats all we can do.....

But lets be fair about the "Title for every particapant"....
OSS had 25 boats in 11 or 12 class's including the POPRA Org
OSS had a great showing in SVL
I'm not knocking OSS....but you need to admitt the avg boat count per class was low....boats had to run in P Class one day and the Pro Series the next...
SBI/APBA had a good Super Stock boat count
Class 5 and 4 had a very good boat count
Vee Unlimited had a good count
P1 had a good boat count
P2 had a good boat count...
In P3 we had a low boat count and we had 5 boats in our class....

But we all have to do what we think is right and none of us should blame anyone....its been a safe and good year so far in Offshore...and I'm sure it will be a great 2nd half of our year...and both Key West and St. Pete will be good sites and racing.....

gino, no boycott needed. you want unification then demand it. quit talking, and walk the walk

That's a great idea Gino! Have you explained it to SBI? No entry,no reg, no expense,TV, and a big purse. Im sure if that was the case we would have a joint race in KW. Ask him and get back to us.

I think the offer was 20 plus spec. teams would show. Maybe Ron could post his offer and you all be the judge if it was so hard to except. Its Johns race and if he wanted to have more boats it was very possible.
Ron please share with the racing community your offer. In my own opinion I am blown away that OSS's offer was not in the best interest of the sport. As the Pres. of OSS lay it out there so there is no confusion on it.

You guys are killing me. If SBI wants KW his way, so be it, It's his city, and his race. He owns it. If you want to race together, sign up. It would be far less expensive for OPA and OSS to go to KW, than run our own races. The money saved by not running our own worlds, could pay all the enrty fees for our teams to go. We have this same BS thread every year, and every year we wind up in KW anyway. I have made a few calls, most of the OSS teams are going anyway. It seems the SVL's are the only ones that dont want to go. SO.......I think Gino would work with me and help to pay for the SVL's. Survey says?

TYPHOON 08-08-2008 03:57 PM

Lets post a list of the OSS teams that you think are going. Most SVL teams cant afford 2 full weeks of racing in November.
1) Micasukki sp (Bret)
2)Bud Lite?
3)Jem ?
4)850 class ??
5) Beckley ?
6) Amsoil ?

Im just guessing at these as possables. Can anyone confirm any of them?

Ryan Beckley 08-08-2008 04:15 PM

I will be at BOTH worlds......
