Challenge to Racers
 

I got an email from a race fan in England named Gerard,his son Ged who is 7 years old is fighting leukemia. Ged is 7 and a huge race fan. He would like his hospital walls plastered with autographed boat racing pics, posters, shirts etc. Lets make it happen. I am sending a package out today and I challenge the rest of you to help put a smile on the face of a sick little boy.

Spoke to Ged's Dad Gerard this morning. As Scotty said our little man ain't doing well at all. If anyone has the time please give him a call in England, great guy going through a real bad time right now and could use some friendly voices. TIME, is not being kind to this family. Anything you could do I'm sure would be appreciated.

Yet again Scotty many thanks for everything mate.

It is with sadness and sorrow to inform you all that on Thursday 11th December 2008 in the Childrens Hospital, Birmingham England, Ged Lowe aged 7 years old died of leukemia, Ged was my only son and will be missed. I wish to thank Augie "THE GODFATHER" Pensa of The Jersey Boyz and team Warpaint for the help. A very big thanks goes to MARC GRANET and JOHN HAGGIN of Miss Geico Racing.com not forgetting SCOTT BEGOVICH the man who started this for me, Scotty from both myself and my wife I wish to thank you, you really did put a smile on my son's face right up to the very end. You Scotty are just more than any boat racer, you are a TRUE friend. I also like to thank each person who sent anything to Ged.

I spoke with Gerard this AM and I just cannot fathom being in his shoes. Gerard, Ged and your family hold a special place in my heart and I know I will have my guardian angel riding with us next season.

Very true words. I'm deeply saddned by your loss but am proud that my racing brothers were able to put a smile on this little boys face. He'll be riding with us for sure.
