Can't understand

I may take some flak for this partially negative thread, but for crying out loud someone has to put it out there. I had watched the OSS race from television the other day, and am very glad to see boats on TV even if it is on some odd channel, It consumed my mind for the day as i had failed to program the VCR and was counting on my wife to get it taped. She did and life can go on. The coverage some had stated was good, I will just say it was better than nothing, My complaints .....the commentary. I know I may be a nobody and have no right speaking about this cause i haven't put in my time yet, but Martin Sanborn for crying out loud.....I assume he is compensated for his work, why not do a good job. Let alone how long it took to get this to TV someone did some editing, maybe he could figure out Who drives and who throttles. It just drives me nuts watching Jenni get out of the left side of a phantom, right next to her name on side of the boat with the little throttles graphic, and then he says something about a girl driving with her husband throttling. Ocean City. IF you are going to get the 4 and 5 class boats all mixed up ( clearly identified with numbers on the boats ) and make screwed up assumptions of laps ran and speeds etc. You need more people doing that handing you information. You can't try and get it all done yourself. Or leave that part out and tell us who is battling who, not how fast the wrong boat went.

I have to agree. I thought the same thing. But to the average fan watching TV at 3pm on a Monday, they have no clue who's who. and probably dont care either. Personally, I feel the production was lacking. You cant cover a single offshore event and all the classes in a half hour show . I know it costs $ to put on a show, but I would rather there was no show than one with several flaws.

Calling FSN (FOX Sports National) an odd channel is unfair. I agree that the show could have been better. Fitting everything into a half hour show with all the classes is impossible.
In defense of Martin, he had less than a day to do the voiceover due to time constraints to air the show in June instead of November like last year's show.
We felt it would be beneficial to both OSS and the upcoming venues to air the episodes sooner than later. This was not a show put together by FOX with an unlimited budget.
The upcoming show from Cumberland was put together in less than a week.
I will take all the constructive criticism that is justified. However
it appears there are other underlying issues with Martin which I may not be privy to.
Thanks for watching the show and I hope you think the next one is better.
Sincerely
