lets see my last two cars were a
1990 Lincoln MK7 , 11.7@118
http://www.hotrodlincoln.org/Gain.jpg
and a 2004 GTO 12.0@114,,
http://www.hotrodlincoln.org/hsvsig2.jpg
both very everyday reliable and daily drivers,
and in my humble opinion anyone who street races is a moron that deserves to be locked up and get their car crushed.
If you cant race at a track and cant race from a dig
you are not for real , only Ricers and idiots race on the street..

Pretty much what I said in my original post. It just takes something like a snapped axle to send your car into the spectators and you are going away for a loooong time. I admit to doing some short stoplight acceleration contests through first gear. Hell yeah. I've only been beaten twice; by a Porsche 911 turbo AWD and a modified Mustang 5.4 Cobra. It's all about hooking up!

Interesting thread BTW. When is the thread starter going to come back with his real intent?

Was able to locate and buy back my very first car a few weeks ago. '72 cuda. I bought the 340 in pieces at a swap meet at 13 then started looking for a car. Found a rust free but stripped cuda in a barn and spent the next couple years wrenchin. Had it done just weeks before my 16th.

Had a blast being a typical teenager cruising and racing it. Especially the first two years of the Woodward cruise before it became a traffic jam. Eventually sold it to buy my first performance boat (hey even at 20 I had priorities!!!).

Just got it back and after a couple trips to Waterford Hills Raceway (road course) last couple years with the Z28 I'm hooked. Gonna build this car for open track days plus a "fair weather" daily driver.

93 octane, 9's at 145 MPH drive it easily on the street

95% HOME BUILT IN MY GARAGE, narrowed the rear, built the cage, engine, turbo set up including SS headers, DFi etc, Only the Th400 , transmission and machine work were outsourced
