Would these other boats also be in p2? Let me know if you need any help with any details. I keep our boat in a shop in vero beach. I might be able to get some help there with a good price.
When can people commit?

Very! However, I believe that unless all the people that would like to run 100mph are registered with SBI nothing will happen. Most of the boats that are (as far as I've heard though the grapevine) running in P3 are capable of running 100 easily. That's 2 canopied Fountains, a sv Phantom and maybe 1 or 2 more. Not all are registered and I doubt that they will be till the first race. Heck I can tell you exactly what will happen. a bunch of fast boats will show up at Cocoa and look at me and say I'm slowing them down because I want 90 and not faster. lol, just my opinion and with all do respect to my fellow racers. Yes, I would love to have a P2 class in SBI again. We can even open it to Vee bottoms. Naturally aspirated 100-105 mph. I am sure there are plenty of boats that want to race again that really don't fit anywhere else. There is a big void between classes and this would give a lot of boats a place to race. I would love to see some of the older boats come back Cat or Vee.

I was wondering why the engines have to be naturally aspirated?
I thought the "P" classes were regulated by speed?

That just wont happen. What happens to Billy with his 1965 resin bucket that shows up to only 2 local races a year and has an average finish of 6th place at the slower speeds? You cant go changing things or you will lose him and the sport will be over. Sorry guys, I was having flashbacks to when I was 18 and knew everything. Be careful though using logic, someone might tell you that you need to take your meds... :party-smiley-004:

That rule has been ln affect with SBl for yrs other then ln P1, we found that the blower motor have a huge acceleration advantage. So to try and keep the racing a little closer on the small track we run and all the turns that rule was put lnto place.

Good question.

Brian you have some good points l guess we will have to see lf there ls enough boats first to have a classs and then maybe boats will be moved up ...

Nah, What Deb is trying to do is a great thing, however in fixing things and re-adjusting speeds, it creates a trickle down affect and the other classes must be thought about as well. Everyone thought I side-tracked another thread, but I was thinking about the whole picture, not just one class. If you create one class and there is a mass exodus from another, nothing really got accomplished. To me its common sense, but, well, I'll just leave it at that... In a perfect world you will have a limited amount of classes, with multiple boats with the opportunity to win a National Championship, instead of a National Attendance Award that you clinch in the first race or 2.

Disclaimer:"National Attendance Award" author is Extras, it was so good I had to use it
