I'm back and it's that time of the year again. Pulled the boat out tonight, washed off the dust and cranked it over. Sounds like this thing is gonna hand out an azzwhoopin. I hear that buddyo from the boring sea will be in Cocoa in the red and white anchor dragger. Who's goin?

Weather looks like usual for Cocoa, should be some big water. We should see some exciting racing.

The boat is actually ready to race and should have been in Cocoa. My wingman had a new addition to his,family a few days ago and had to call it. I've been kicking pebbles all day! And if one more person tells me everything happens for a reason I'm gonna lose it.

Oh yeah. I slept in the cockpit last night.

On another note. Are any of the sv's going to Sarasota? We are debating where to race in July. I've Been reading that the org has been a bit of a ghost. Just curious if anyone has plans to show in Sarasota, both Sbi and Opa boats, and how they plan to tech. Leaning towards Marathon though.

I might be able to make you decision easier... based off your name my assumption is that you are running a Vortec which per OPGP and OPA are illegal motors.. The only legal motors per OPGP/APBA per OPA written rules (2014 OPA hasnt updated yet) is 525 EFI sealed. OPGP has added the 540 but with the OPA rule book not being updated as of yet, that means APBA isnt updated as well

If you can come up with a 525 let me know I have 3 sets of Mercury issued seals sitting here in my shop I'll give ya so you dont have to go to the ludicrous expense of having Mercury rebuild and seal your motor

Well that solves that. Thank you. Marathon it is. So basically, no new boats and no old motors. That's gotta hurt boat count.

Just took 5 minutes to check. Used 525 18k plus 10k mercury rebuild plus shipping. For 30k I can race the other orgs with a motor that runs just like mine.

Not to mention but I believe you are 32 ' which knocks you out of OPA. APBA may also have a 30 ' rule as well.

I think his mind was made up after the review of the "Sealed motor rule"

I LOVE IT !!!!!! Great rigging job and looks very well laid out. I prefer you have a throttelman and driver but its been done with one man in other boats. It will be worth the wait. VERY IMPRESSIVE !!!!

I will take the new Bandit boat on this one. I don't think anyone will get smoked unless it very big water then the 32 should really shine.

they don't show you registered in p-4 actuall I didn't see a p-4 class ,unless you mean that pro-am thingy .

It's registered in pro-am. In discussions about possible svl class running the vortec.

What I was informed of since Phantom 9 is running SVL is that they have to run a "long lap" or a handicap lap whatever they call it whereas the OPA SVLs coming in along with Boatfloater's OPA motor do not have to run the "long lap".. The only question mark is your length. In looking at the current entry list released by Speed on the Water the other day, the teams that are coming down are great guys,will be straight forward with you, and they will work with you as best they can

My option looks to be the same or run in pro am. I'm fine with either. Tech will make a decision on the boat. I did ask if the two classes would start together which is still to be determined based on overall boat count. Ruth Mares has been my point of contact and has been a pleasure to deal with.

If all goes well we will run the SBI season.
