Yahoo says it's a 3 hour drive from the nicer parts of Long Island to the Offshore Boating Capital of the world. I'll allow one hour for getting lost, so I'll leave at 9am .... That's still two hours before my usual wake-up-time, you animal.

You've got that right, Bruce. Also, Shinnecock to Pt. Pleasant would be 95 miles as the crow flies, that's 50 miles less than over land. Defintely the way to go.

Trouble is, the boat isn't quite ready yet. See attached.

Peconic...not only is it 50 miles less as the crow flies, but with decent seas, you could do 80 mph, the way those Kryp's run...
