Default PX boats?

Not sure I like the PX boats (exhibition) big boys out with the F-1 guys, from what I saw in Daytona, they spent a lot of time causing havoc on boats much slower then themselves and for what?

I do not see why these super fast boats need to jeapordize a really competiitve class of real racers in F-1 and the slower P classes?

suggest the PX boats run by themselves if they want to hotdog

Tom

True. I'm sure Randy will have something to say on that topic. He was livid after the race.

No kidding. I wonder if he'll change the little boy peeing on the Fountain Logo to a little boy peeing on a PX boat.

They were running around the outside with the exception of having to cross the line for the dog leg left on the backside. Certainly wouldn't call it havoc...I'd call the 50' Magnum (corner/flag boat) that pulled onto the course and had to be stopped by one of the choppers hovering 10' off the water in front of it to stop it havoc...the Coast Guard that also entered the back stretch in pursuit would probably argee...

Scott, you run 1 race with sbi last year and if I remember rightly your words to me after the race was you got to be nut.Thts one reason we went back with APBA.My guys had some hairy moments out there trying to race with 38 to 50 ft boats comming around you at 90 to 140 mph.and i got it on film.Giad everything went well and now you got some seat time. MEL TEAM VIXEN. SEE YOU MARATHON

Default Not a good plan...

I met some of the Callan guys at the Shootout and at Key West. Nice guys. I hope they come back to the Ozarks for this years Shootout.
Having said that, I was ready to pull whoever was driving the Callan boat out and kick his ARSE after he came within15 to 20 feet off our inside and immediately come over in front of us to cross to our outside. I'm not sure if they even had the required 50' to overtake. I say I'm not sure because I couldn't see DICK for about 15 seconds.
Now, I've been washed down before. But nothing could describe getting blasted by the freaking jet wash/deck gun blast we took off of those guys. We was wet, hurtin, and pissed !!!
I will admit that this was a tough course for them to stay on an outside line, but the Baccardi boat came around us in the worst possible spot, coming out of the lefthander, (turn-5), and heading down to turn 6 & 7. They was on our starboard side coming out of the turn, which would have been the outside of that turn, but they gave us at least 50 feet when coming around us and was well over 200' away, (about 4-5 Baccardi boatlengths) before they came over in front of us to get set up for turns 6 & 7.
I realize it was a tough job for all the PX teams to navigate the course and stay away from all the slower boats out there. So, for safety reasons, I think APBA may want to think about having two races for the P classes next time.
As for the Callan driver...
ok, I calmed down and got over it, so I won't kick his ass. but he does owe me a drink.

If we are going to have dog legs on the course, they have to be bigger. If they want the smaller course keep it it an oval course.
