F1 and F2 Going away?

Eddie,
I think your right as is Manitie. When I bought the F1 boat it was only intended for racing. I never intended it to be a pleasure boat. F1 was originally as you described, a dual purpose craft you can race and ski with. The class has evolved as more of a race category with improvements for "safety". As our focus is on racing, it seems a natural progression to move up when were done with the F1 boat.
I would be very happy to see the existing F1 fleet come out and race. Maniitie making a very generous offer with sponsorship money I thought would help. I still think it would. It may just take some time to catch on. You should not be surprised how many teams will show when the carrot is big enough to chase.

I think F1 has change for the good over the last 3 to 4 years referring to the rules and keeping everybody within a couple of mph of each other..if we can get back some of the teams that used to race an a couple from the Great Lakes guys to run with us along with some extra money where back to the biggest class agian. But it would be nice to put out an engine and driver package and stay with it for 3 years an announce a year in advance of the changes to give teams time to get ready.

F1 is not an entry level class by no means. I honestly think rookie F1 Teams think it's the bottom of the classes and then go HOLY CHIT! You experienced F1 guy's know that you have to run on the edge to be competitive. I could list 15 teams that started with great hope and soon dwindled away. I see many fast boats sitting around and they're scared to race them. Just my opinion and my goal is to be back in my 28 in F1 - BH
