Thank you to all who attended, over 40 boats and a lot of fans even with all the rain. Hope you all enjoyed the race and will help us to make next year's event even better. Please send any suggestions to me at [email protected]
Here is a letter from Rick at POC Incorporated Web Services...
UPDATE 06/16/2003 :
This is Rick, your web guy/Cinci/Reindl Sponsor (www.POC.us)
Great meeting you all last weekend, and congratulations to all the winners, and great job to everyone. We (wife/I) enjoyed meeting you all.
Two things
1. would like to keep this site going since this is to be an annual event. So send me your stories and photos and video clips and I'll post them. We are going to redesign this to accommodate some new things like discussion forums, links etc.
Send your pics and stuff to [email protected].
2. Your comments to be posted anonymously, about your weekend race/spectator experience. Also send to [email protected].
Thanks! ~Rick

Great Job
Great Job getting this race organized. It seemed we couldn't get a break from the rain or the river. Congrats to Chris, Tarrah and the many others who made this a successful event. If anybody saw the sponsorship list from this race you can tell these guys worked their butt off. The Hotel Sponsors especially were a great treat enjoyed by all.
Thanks

Thanks for putting this together! I know how much time you invested and despite the weather and river conditions it turned out great, especially for us.
Thanks

Chris,
It took a lot of guts to hold an Offshore boat race on a river 600 miles from the nearest ocean and 250 miles from the closest of the Great Lakes. I have to admit, when you first said you wanted to do this, I had my doubts.
You pulled it off...and did it in great style. Goes to show that Offshore boats are everywhere and people interested in Offshore racing don't necessarily live near a coast. 20,000+ people showed up on the banks of the Ohio River, on what was probably one of the worst weather weekends of the season, to watch 42 true thoroughbreds put on a show never before seen from the banks of a great waterway running through the heart of America!.
The Village of New Richmond welcomed the racers with open arms. The Mayor was going around asking everyone what could be done to make next years race better, and city leaders where already talking about moving the dry pits to a bigger and better location. It was middle American hospitality at its best.
Most of those on the bank got their first look at the excitement of Offshore racing and I'm willing to bet some of them will be back next year with a race boat of their own.
Offshore racing is a type of boat racing, not a place where boat races are held....Move over Hydroplanes, the Offshore boys have arrived.

Ken,
I could have not have said it better. They are making plans now to add boat ramps and a concrete pad for the crane. Just for our event. Looks like we may be planning more than one race a year there!
