Thumbs up Congrats to the promoters

Congratulations to the towns of Orange Beach, Alabama and to Sarasota, Florida. It goes to show that the promoters of the race are what make the difference. Mike A. and John C. will bring the product, but the town is what makes it a success or not. Ala has ben reported to have 40-50 boats and Sarasota has reportedly 60-70 boats.
It is hard enough for Mike and John to keep us organized and with the addition of these 2 races this fall and their success the promoters have steped up and hopefully have set an example for other promoters to follow.
Forget the politics for a minute and realize that it is the promoters that make a successful race vs. a flop.
Thanks again to Orange Beach and Sarasota! Its just makes a kid like me look forwards to what this sport can become.

Chunks,
You might just have an answer. If an answer does come it will most likely come from "Jersey". It's a big season, roughly 32 weeks. And it's a big FREE country (last time I checked). The "Powers Of Offshore" might be better off coordinating their schedules and encouraging participation of anyone who wants to race. Let "US" decide where and when to race. Allow us the opportunity to support these great sites and their promoters. I'm a capitalist and I understand the need for profit. But I think those of us who pay to do this are a little tired of the destructive habits of our leaders. Gary Nichols and his team pulled off an incredible event. They did it because they love the sport and put it above all else. The result was a success by any measure, in spite of the overlapped dates. There is a lesson here Chunks, you are so right. SQ
