I have a question, I took my family to the races in NYC this weekend. We had a great time, but I was wondering how come the race teams don't sell t-shirts and hats and stuff. It seems like you guys could sell quite a bit of stuff. The kids love that. It would help promote your teams and rase some money to boot. Or am I being short sited and it's not worth it.

No shirts??? I am suprised as most of the teams do in fact have t-shirts with their team and sponsor names on them. Usually look pretty cool as well. If you still want shirts many teams have websites you can contact them through and I'm sure they'd be glad to send you what you need.

Gary: Most teams have their own Ts. Some sell them. Some simply give them away. Some support a whole garment industry. Next time you are at an event, simply approach the teams and ask. You are right, there is very little in overt marketing of the garbs.

Peconic,
I'm in Center Moriches. I met you at the Claudio's fun run. I do most of my boating in the Peconic, since it has a lot more water than Moriches bay.
As far as asking for shirts, I didn't think of that, besides I feel funny just asking for a freebe. I was just wondering why they didn't have some sort of trailer set up to buy stuff. Even the SBI trailer didn't have stuff for sale. I'm thinking you guys could make some money to help with some of the expenses. I know when I go to a Winston cup race I spend at least a 100 bucks on stuff

Well, there could be an idea somewhere. Rather than selling (or giving away) teamwear willie-nillie, someone could do a central teamwear stand. All teams give him the stuff on consignment. Could be extended to the 'net. Gary & I split the franchise fee...
Gary: Let's tear up the water when I'm back. (Am in Euro at the moment. Boat is in Gary's backyard, in Eastport, getting ready for MD)
