New Lauderdale Race Schedule
#1
This just in from Michelle:
Saturday race schedule....
10:30am RACE 1- PX
11:00AM RACE 2- SUPER CAT/ SUPER CAT LIGHT
12:30pm RACE 3 – PV, SUPER VEE, F2
2:00pm RACE 4 – SVL, F1, P1, P2
3:15pm RACE 5 – P3, P4, P5, One Design
For us, this means that Randy will jump out of Black Beauty after Race 4, and right into the bat boat named White Typhoon for the occasion. And Randy will race again.
Way to go, Randy!
Asked by his rookie driver for instructions, Randy said: "Just don't kill me."

Better than racing Black Beauty & Bat Boat at the same time!
I know a Racer that was supposed to drive an F- 1 boat than a Super Vee Light. Now they race together!
See you at the Races. Good Luck Berte !!

"Not amused" is an understatement. An earlier email from the promoter said this:
"The schedule currently sits at this program:
11:00am Super Cats/ Super Cat Lights
12:30pm Super Vees/Super Vee Lights/F2
2:00pm F1, Perform V, X 1-5, One Design
IF ANYTHING, we may consider a 4th race of bats only, HOWEVER,
until my officials tell me differently, this is the published schedule."
This is a race, not a beauty pageant. It's just another example of being jacked around a few weeks before a race.

Hey Guys -
As I have said time and time again, we make our decisions based on the OFFICIALLY ENTERED race teams, not on the team members who say they are coming...
As it stands, in reference to the latest complaint, we do have Screamin Eagle in the F1 class OFFICIALLY registered, HOWEVER, as I have emailed to Lou Ann a number of times, the Super Vee Light that they refer to has not yet entered the race OFFICIALLY, sent any paperwork, or paid the fees.
We have to make decisions based on the realities, which are who have paid and comitted to enter, both mentally, and financially.
I don't recognize who you are Formula Outlaw, are you an Official Competitor OR a fan?
As a race competitor, I am sure you will be able to make your race on time and enjoy the comraderie it seems you have built here on OSO,
and if you are a fan, you will have a dynamic
race to watch.
We look forward to having you either way, but if you are a competitior, then get your entry in.
And you are right... This is not a beauty pageant. Beauty pageants, in reality, have less behind the scenes politics.
The contestants spend more of their time selling sponsorships and getting backing than complaining about the event and its operations. They don't have time for it, they do have time to prepare for the competition.
That's why they have been in business over a hundred years, and why they are able to air their events LIVE on national television.
The contestants also allow the Competition Producer to spend time on sponsorships, which passes benefits back to the competitors rather than complaining about every single issue that one single person doesn't like, instead of understanding the whole picture in its entirety and working within it.
These types of negative issue bashing is a major reason why many producers just plain walk away after an event.
While many of you choose to blame APBA Offshore or other racing groups, the fact is that many, many of the issues of why we leave is because the competitors and fans get in the middle of both crucial negotiations, as well interrupt the operations of an event, with limited knowledge as to the number of participants, the amount of expenses, the limitations of operation and licenses/regulations that are involved.
Truly, while you may have one or two of those areas available at your disposal from which to base your opinions, I assure you that you do not have all the information necessary to make many of the decisions that involve the entire event.
And while many of you site that you leave the sport because it isn't fun anymore, many of the producers, and the media leave the sport because it just isn't fun anymore as well.
However, getting all your complaints out to your friends in advance of the actual event will perhaps, allow the event to be politics free when it actually occurs, which I would appreciate, as I have a tremendous amount of media coming and involved to do stories on ...
that's right, those teams that are OFFICIALLY ENTERED.
I do, however, always appreciate your positive insights. It makes my work effort all the more worthwhile.
On a final note, I did receive an email from both Lou Ann and her husband, Alan, and have forwarded such to our officials in the hopes of satisfying one more OFFICIALLY ENTERED TEAM.
See you at the races
